Year 2 tour the sights around Marvellous Milton Keynes

As part of our topic ‘Brilliant Bletchley and Marvellous Milton Keynes’ we went on an exciting minibus tour of the cultural and architectural landmarks in our amazing city!

Emma became our expert tour guide for the day, delivering interesting facts about the local history and we visited some of the landmarks we have started to learn about in our lessons.

We started by visiting Bletchley train station and Bletchley Park. We then stopped off at the MK Dons stadium before moving onto Xscape and seeing the Point in the distance.

We then parked up and visited the theatre, MK gallery and the MK Rose. Finally, we took a walk up to the light pyramid to see the views.

We observed the physical and human features. We learnt that Milton Keynes has over 130 roundabouts and made a tally of the roundabouts we passed on the way.

On our return to school, we looked at Milton Keynes on a map and identified the places we had visited. We gave directions of how to get to some of the landmarks.
