TES Awards

The Premier Academy attended the prestigious TES Schools Awards ceremony in London; following our shortlisting in the International Award category for our work representing the UK in the Global Science Opera. Although we didn’t win the award, we were thrilled to have finished as a runner-up from the 45 schools that had been nominated in our category.

Best School Music Department 2018

The Premier Academy Music Department, headed up by our specialist music teacher, Jonathan Harris, is one of just 5 schools throughout Britain that has been shortlisted for the award of Best School Music Department 2018. The awarding body is the Music Teacher Magazine, a leading voice and supporter of music teaching. The awards have been described as ‘The Oscars Of The Music World’.

Quality Mark 6

The Basic Skills Agency is a national organisation committed to improving standards of basic skills in English and Maths. The agency aims to develop, support and celebrate good practice in literacy, language and numeracy for children and young people. To our knowledge we are the only Academy in Milton Keynes to have been awarded six ticks, the highest award available, having been involved with this standard from the earliest opportunity. We have now held this award for 15 years. In the words of our assessor:

Healthy Schools

In achieving the National Healthy Schools Award at its inception in 1998, and in maintaining those standards since, we have proven that we are committed to taking a systematic and constructive approach to some of the more difficult issues surrounding Academy life such as drug education, emotional and mental health and wellbeing, healthy eating, physical activity and sex and relationships education. TPA has been accredited with the highest achievable standard within the Healthy Schools framework.

Sainsbury's School Games

The Premier Academy is committed to ensuring that all children receive at least two hours of quality PE each week as well as access to in-house and additional extra curricula activities and competitions. We have solid links with external clubs and coaches and we are well on our way this year to achieving the Gold Mark.

Artsmark Platinum Award

Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. It celebrates a school’s commitment to the delivery and development of arts and cultural education for all children.

The Premier Academy was delighted to be awarded Platinum standard Artsmark in February 2023 for our established high quality and ambitious provision in the arts, excellence in teaching styles and outstanding impact our arts offer brings to every child in the Academy. We are currently on our third Artsmark journey.
