Global Science Opera
Since 2015 at its inception, The Premier Academy has proudly represented the UK in the annual global science opera, the vision of which is to produce productions during which a global community will explore interwoven science, art and technology within a creative and democratic inquiry process. Our music teacher, Jonathan, has composed key elements of the productions and our children benefit enormously from the experience. Our involvement in 2017 led to our shortlisting for a prestigious TES (Times Educational Supplement) award.
Sports Leaders UK
The Premier Academy is committed to ensuring that children have the opportunity to become effective leaders. One way in which we achieve this is through our affiliation to Sports Leaders UK through which we give our children the opportunity to become PlayMakers and receive the PlayMaker Award.

National Careers Service
The National Careers Service is a single integrated, government backed service which offers information, careers and skills advice via three delivery channels – face to face, phone and via the website. We work with the service to provide new opportunities to parents.
Association For Language Learning
The Association for Language Learning (ALL) is the UK’s major subject association for teachers of foreign languages. As well as benefitting from the membership themselves, The Premier Academy’s Spanish teachers take a very active role in the association, supporting and guiding primary language teachers across the country.
Living Archive
Living Archive is a child of Milton Keynes. Conceived as a response to the assertion that ‘new towns have no history’, it has been nourished and developed by a continuing source of wonderful stories and artefacts from its citizens that can astound you, amuse you, and move you to tears. We are proud to be affiliated to this organisation.
Investors In People
Through our involvement with the IIP accreditation system we have proven that we are fully committed to developing our people in order to achieve our Academy aims and objectives. By understanding the importance of setting clearly defined, specific and achievable targets for our staff we are ensuring that the Academy’s performance continues to improve.
Job Centre Plus
We host regular Training, Career and Employment Fairs supported by the Job Centre Plus. As a result of this partnership our parents have access to advice on different benefits and services available including: information on job opportunities, training providers, self-employment, sector based work, work experience and sign posting to other relevant agencies.
Read Easy
Working through community-based volunteer groups, Read Easy offers a free, friendly, flexible approach to learning to read for any adult who either can’t read at all, or who lacks confidence with reading. A highly effective, phonics-based reading scheme is used supported by a variety of learning activities on a one-to-one basis. The Premier Academy liaises with the service to support reading development for interested parents.
The Virtual School
The Virtual School, Milton Keynes is an advocate for children to ensure they reach their potential and leave education with a sense of well-being. The Virtual School provides schools with information, tools to raise attainment and training for professionals. We work collaboratively with the Virtual School to ensure that the children in our care are achieving to the best of their potential.
Hazard Alley
Hazard Alley’ was the first purpose-built safety education centre in the UK, designed to give visitors a unique interactive learning experience. During a tour in its ‘life size’ village young people encounter a range of ‘hazards’ giving them the opportunity to develop vital knowledge and strategies on how to stay safe.
Image Musical Theatre
TPA has been in partnership with image Musical Theatre for over a decade. Three times a year Image actors entertain, teach and work alongside our children in bringing classic and modern children’s literature to life on our stage.
Milton Keynes Child And Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
CAMHS supports families and professionals who are concerned about children and young people who may be experiencing mental health difficulties. Some of the difficulties the team can help with include: significant behaviour problems, depression, self-harm, anxiety disorders (including phobias), obsession/compulsion, tic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, family relationship problems, trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosis.
The multi-disciplinary team has a wide range of skills and includes a variety of professionals.
NHS Professional Services
We work with a range of NHS professionals: school nurses, speech and language specialists, community paediatricians, clinical psychologists and local general medical practitioners.
Regular school nurse clinics are held on site to provide parents with easy access to advice available on a range of matters. We also refer individuals for support which is targeted at specific areas of concern.
We also work in partnership with the school nursing team to provide opportunities for the following: flu vaccinations, sight and hearing assessment, and height and weight assessments.
Mind
Mind supports over 370 000 people across England and Wales. Its services include talking therapies, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending.
Each local Mind is an independent charity run by local people, for local people. They are responsible for their own funding and services.
Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board
MKSB works with partner agencies in Milton Keynes to protect children and young people from harm. The MKSB agrees how local services and professionals should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We have an excellent working relationship with MKSB which commends our own work in this area.
The Premier Academy’s Designated Safeguarding Team members as part of their own training are accredited by MKSB to deliver the ‘Everybody’s Business’ safeguarding course and associated training which all staff at the Academy receive as part of an extensive training programme.
NSPCC
The NSPCC’s programme teaches children strategies to be safe. The Speak Out, Stay Safe programme gives children the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect. The NSPCC has supported the Academy to deliver assemblies, workshops, training and resources to help us safeguard children and give them the confidence to speak out and stay safe.
Thames Valley Police
The Academy liaises with the police in an advisory role and works closely with the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in cases where their involvement is necessary. We also have officers visit the children to discuss ‘hot topics’ such as online safety.
Milton Keynes City Council
The Academy works closely with the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to safeguard and protect our children in the first instance, resulting in support from Childrens’ Family Practices or Children and Families. Additionally the Family Assessment and Support Team works with children in a therapeutic capacity. We also work closely with the Corporate Parenting team which is responsible for the care of our Looked After Children in the Academy.
In order to ensure that our children with additional needs are provided with the highest level of care we work with a range of impairment specialists for children with needs: speech and language, visual, hearing, communication and interaction, learning and cognition and behaviour.
Ride High Equestrian Centre
Ride High is a registered charity that provides opportunities for disadvantaged children to experience horse riding and build their confidence and self-esteem to improve their future prospects. Alongside their weekly riding lessons each child also takes part in a structured clubroom session to develop skills in communication and teamwork.
Milton Keynes College
We are proud to be working in partnership with MK College to support their vocational pathways, in particular providing work experience placements in our PE department.
Milton Keynes Play Association
MKPA delivers a wide variety of training and development opportunities which are open to people working with children and young people. At the Academy we work in partnership with MKPA to access their training, in particular the First Aid For Schools training which is delivered on site at the Academy and allows us to have a significant number of fully trained staff.
Action4Youth
Action4Youth is an established charity which operates an outdoor learning centre in Milton Keynes, the Caldecotte Xperience. The Caldecotte Xperience offers a variety of exciting adventure activities and learning experiences to both children and young people. We provide the opportunity for an overnight adventure stay for children in Years 3 and 4.
St John Ambulance
St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity. Our level 3 staff who are trained by St John Ambulance are able to train the teachers who deliver First Aid training to the children across the Academy. Additionally, each year we take part in the Big First Aid lesson with St John Ambulance which empowers our children to deal with an emergency situation.
Manor Adventure
Manor Adventure uses outdoor pursuits as a catalyst to develop each and every child. A family company since 1991, Manor Adventure is the largest independent company in the school residential sector in the UK. Children in Years 5 and 6 enjoy the opportunity to go on a residential visit to a Manor Adventure location.
Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire Service
The Fire Service delivers educational packages, including lessons and resources free of charge to schools. We work in partnership with the local Milton Keynes Fire Service to provide fire safety education to children, including onsite visits from the Fire Service focusing on safety in the home.
Bryerley Springs Farm
All children in Key Stage 2 enjoy a horse riding session at Bryerley Springs Farm each year. This provides the opportunity for the children to develop their co-ordination and confidence whilst providing a unique and exciting experience.
Magistrates Court
Representatives from the Milton Keynes Magistrates Court visit the Academy to work with our older children to educate them on the British justice system. This partnership provides valuable links with British Values and the SMSC curriculum, enabling children to make informed choices and take responsibility for their behaviour both now and in the future.
The University of Northampton
The University of Northampton works as the Initial Teacher Training provider for a diverse and innovative group of Lead Schools and their Alliance Schools in Northamptonshire and its surrounding counties to support the delivery of BEd and PGCE QTS programmes through the School Direct route. We are proud to play our part in training future teachers.

Snozone
Each year children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoy tobogganing at the Snozone. This provides children with the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills and their co-ordination. The exercise provides great enjoyment with elements of risk taking in a safe environment.

The Tommy Flowers SCITT
The Premier Academy is delighted to be a partner of The Tommy Flowers SCITT, which trains trainee teachers in schools across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. With a 100% employment record and 97% of trainees achieving a grading of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ upon completion of the course, the Tommy Flowers SCITT serves to develop the next generation of excellent teachers in Milton Keynes.
