TPA experiences the wonders of Cultural Diversity Week

The Premier Academy recently celebrated Cultural Diversity Week, with classes enjoying a range of engaging lessons centered around a specific country.

Each class learned about a different country, including the likes of Nigeria, New Zealand, Tonga, and Mexico.

Throughout the week, the children learned about art, history, food, fashion, traditions, wildlife, and even sports from their dedicated country.

Many classes created flag displays, listened to traditional musical instruments, participated in traditional dances, and completed fact files about the countries they learned about.

The entire week was a celebration of the diverse nature of our country and the world as a whole and culminated in a non-uniform day where children either dressed in traditional clothing from their own cultures or wore the colours of their dedicated country.

The annual event was once again an enjoyable one for all involved, with the children excited to share comparisons to their own cultures during lessons.

Some children shared their thoughts on the week:

“It was great to learn about different countries!”

“I got to wear my country’s dress on Friday!”

“Some countries are very different to ours!”
