TPA children star in successful Music Showcase

On the evening of Tuesday 11th March, around fifty children from The Premier Academy took part in a hugely successful Music Showcase in Harrison Hall.

The children, predominantly from Years 5 and 6, produced such a great show, which was enjoyed by parents, relatives and even family friends.

The choir performed songs from The Greatest Showman and the School Song from Matilda, while the orchestra starred with pieces including Skye Boat Song and Ode to Joy.

Brass and woodwind teachers from the Milton Keynes Music Service came along to support the groups, which had also recently performed in Milton Keynes at the Music Service Instrumental Festivals.

Along with flutes, clarinets and trumpets, the Showcase included the Academy’s first performance of children playing the oboe, bassoon and French horn.

Thank you to the many parents and families who came along to give such enthusiastic support.

One impressed parent said:

“We loved watching all the truly talented children perform so well. So much incredible skill and talent in the young children. We were blown away and enjoyed it all.”

A Year 5 pupil commented:

“It was scary at first but when we got up to perform it was great fun.”

A Year 6 pupil added:

“Performing in front of parents was a great experience. I love the choir songs and orchestra pieces. Everyone did well. The bassoons were really cool.”
