Children from across the Academy were treated to a wonderful brass instrument performance this Learning Block.

The performers were members of the Milton Keynes Music Service, including some familiar faces who teach instrument lessons.

Performing as a quintet, which means a group of five, the performers introduced the children to the various instruments on display. This included the trombone, trumpet, and French horn.

The performance demonstrated the different pitches the instruments were able to achieve, with some practical opportunities for eager volunteers to show their existing knowledge and ability with them.

Children were treated to different styles of music, highlighting each individual instrument’s range, and were all pleasantly surprised when the theme of the Avengers’ movies was performed.

Some of the lucky children shared their thoughts on the performance, saying:

“It was great to see the performance. The songs were very interesting!”

 

“The instruments are so different. They were all very loud!”

 

“The Avengers song was cool, it was my favourite part!”
