Year 6 children returned to Bedfordshire University this Learning Block to participate in specially tailored lessons led by aspiring PE Teachers.
The children were taught a range of warm-up games and skills in different sports, with sessions led by current university students studying PE for their degrees.
The experience continues the positive relationship between the Academy and the University, with Year 6 children having participated in similar lessons last year.
This was a unique experience for both the TPA children as well as the university students, as it was their first hands-on experience working with primary aged children.
The Academy children behaved exceptionally well and everyone involved had a positive, enjoyable time.
The children were kind enough to share their experiences, saying:
“I liked the dodgeball that they taught us. It was really fun and the student leaders were fun as well.”
“I enjoyed the dodgeball game because the student leader made it fun.”
“I really liked all the sports they played but I liked football the best. The trip to Bedford was definitely worth it.”
“We got to play football, netball, dodgeball and we got taught some yoga ā which was fun because we got to roll a huge dice. It was fun.”
