TPA children get active for Sports Day

Children at The Premier Academy enjoyed their annual Sports Day last week. Key Stage 1 children took part on Tuesday (8th July) while Key Stage 2 had theirs the next day, on Wednesday (9th July).

Children arrived onto the Academy field at 9:15am donning hats and wearing sun cream as the sun beat high in the sky. Activities, including classics such as javelin throw, egg and spoon race and an obstacle course, started promptly at 9:20am.

The activities lasted nine minutes each until 10:35am, where the children enjoyed a quick snack of either a banana or apple, giving them an opportunity to rest from all the excitement and enjoyment.

At 10:45am, the activities continued. This time, they ran until 12:10pm when the classes lined up and efficiently collected their Sports Day lunch of either burgers or hot dogs.

During lunch, children were able to sit with family members in attendance before joining in with some dancing, music or games, monitored by the many members of staff around the field.

At 1:30pm, all classes reconvened and were led back into the Academy, where the children were given a nice, cold ice pop to cool down with and work through some Sports Day-themed activities for the rest of the school day.

The children had a thoroughly enjoyable time, with one happy child commenting: ā€œI had a great time! The activities were fun and the lunch was delicious! I wish we could this every week!ā€
