Congratulations to the Academy’s Year 6 violinists as well as the woodwind and brass groups, who performed recently in Central Milton Keynes at the String and Woodwind/Brass Festivals.
The string group performed ‘Spring’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, playing as a three-part ensemble. It was one of the hardest pieces performed during the whole festival.
The woodwind groups were a flute trio and a bassoon and clarinet duet, and the brass performance was a trumpet and French horn duet.
All the children played exceptionally well following weeks of preparation with their instrumental teachers. The festivals were organised by the Milton Keynes Music Service.
A couple of the Year 6 performers kindly shared their thoughts on the experience, saying:
“It was awesome. I really enjoyed sharing my piece with others. It was also great listening to so many other violins and cellos.”
“It was a very cool experience playing in front of other people and seeing how other people perform.”
