On Tuesday 21 February, Councillor David Hopkins came to visit Year 2 as part of their History topic of Brilliant Bletchley and Marvellous Milton Keynes.

During the visit, the children learned about Cllr Hopkins’ role as Councillor and Mayor, as well as how he helps to support and improve Milton Keynes.

Here are some of the things the children learned about Mr Hopkins:

He has had dinner with Boris Johnson!

His daughter is also a Councillor.

He has met many Prime Ministers and has even been to the Houses of Parliament.

He met the King last week to celebrate Milton Keynes becoming a city and met the Queen in 2017 when she visited MK and he was Mayor.
