Children in Year 6 have been taking part in an art project run by the Academy’s Art Coordinator and Year 6 Leader. The main objective of the project was to work collaboratively and appreciate one another’s differences and similarities. The project focused on cooperation and teamwork to create a group masterpiece. Children were given an enlarged square to create a pencil rendering of part of a butterfly which was one element of the larger cohesive mosaic piece. The children learnt to understand unity and variety as important principals of design, giving the artwork a sense of cohesion.
Year 6 are currently working on a project for the Coronation of King Charles III so watch this space…
