The summer holidays are right around the corner, and children at The Premier Academy enjoyed two Sports Days to begin winding down.
As is traditional at the Academy, children in Years 1, 2, and 3 participated in their Sports Day on a Tuesday, while the remaining year groups enjoyed their activities the very next day.
The scorching weather of recent weeks finally dissipated just in time for the children to take to the field, allowing for a more comfortable experience for them and the many family members also in attendance.
Activities included the egg and spoon race, bean bag toss, penalty shootouts, and javelin as children moved around the field in their classes and racked up plenty of house points for their efforts.
After completing the full circuit, the children enjoyed a special Sports Day lunch on the field, with burgers, hot dogs and pasta on offer, and some spent time with the family members who were there to watch them.
Singing, dancing, and games were enjoyed before the main activities were brought to a close and the children returned to their classrooms for some calming Sports Day-themed activities and some much-loved ice pops.
All in all, the children, staff, and families thoroughly enjoyed the day and are already eagerly awaiting its return next summer.
Some children shared their thoughts on the day, saying:
“It was great! I loved the penalties!”
“I hit so many cones with the bean bags!”
“The burgers were delicious!”
“I love ice pops, they helped me cool down!”
