They say that learning a new skill always takes time, and the best way to begin is by dipping your toe into the water first. Well that is certainly the case with Year 5 as they have been enjoying learning how to swim this year.
Children are learning vital swimming skills and have even learned what to do when faced with a water-based emergency.
The children enjoyed the experience and were kind enough to share some of their thoughts.
“I enjoyed the PJ day when we got to swim in them.”
– C
“On the last day we got to play beach ball tag which was really fun.”
– J
“I couldn’t swim so I really enjoyed learning how to do it. I can swim now and I feel more confident.”
– R
“I used to be a weak swimmer but during the lessons, towards the end, I got moved to a more challenging group.”
– I
