A mathematician from Bletchley Park and a professional dance company from London visited us to deliver a Maths, Music and Movement Workshop to some of our Year 6 children. They learnt about coding and the children created their own coding through dance, music and mathematic sequences, partly linked to Morse code and sign language. We are very grateful to Bletchley Park for organising and delivering the workshop here, free of charge. It was a fascinating workshop for the Year 6 children, seeing how coding can be linked, not just to maths, but also to the creative arts, and it was a useful follow-on from their visit to Bletchley Park in Year 5.
Bletchley Park’s ‘Local Residents Ticket Offer’ gives you 50% off admission prices to Bletchley Park – well worth a visit.
Holly – ‘It was great fun and we got to learn sign language and dance. I know the whole alphabet and some words in sign language.’
Katie-Dean – ‘It was amazing how movement, maths and music combined well together.’
