Required: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Responsible To: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: Negotiable based on experience

This post is complementary to that of the teacher, working in partnership to help further the aims of the Academy. You will be required to carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction and supervision of the SENCo and teaching staff. These tasks will include assisting and supporting teachers in their professional duties and supervising children’s work and play activities. 

The following list of duties is not exhaustive but is intended as a guide to the range of tasks you may be required to undertake.

  • To support the teaching staff with children’s learning activities working predominantly with a child on a 1:1 basis or with a small group of children on tasks as directed by the class teacher
  • To maintain the care and well-being of all children in the Academy, but with a primary focus on the needs of the named child/ren.
  • To ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroom and the Academy in accordance with the Academy’s policy
  • To encourage all children to meet the standards of behaviour set out in the Academy’s policies
  • To carry out professional duties in particular maintaining records, regular feedback to the Class Teacher and SENCo on the named child’s progress, preparing resources and teaching materials.
  • To assist with the preparation and arrangement of teaching equipment
  • To maintain records of injuries and names of children receiving regular medication
  • To attend all relevant meetings
  • To attend courses / training sessions in order to support individual professional development and the development of the Academy
  • To hold a current emergency / first aid certificate and to administer first aid to children as necessary

Required: Academy Secretary

Responsible To: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £15,000 - £20,000 per annum FTE dependent on experience
Closing Date: Wednesday 15 November 2017, 12noon
Start Date: ASAP, Monday to Friday 08:00-16:45, term time + 2 weeks


To provide effective administrative support in order to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the Academy office

The following list of duties is not exhaustive but is intended as a guide to the range of tasks you may be required to undertake.

  • Production of general correspondence, documents for Academy staff, information etc., using word-processing equipment
  • Distribution of completed work
  • To administer the current SIMs package and all DfE data, attendance and census returns.
  • Providing accurate proof reading skills
  • Setting up systems and procedures for new and existing initiatives as and when appropriate
  • Ensure the smooth administration of school roll, attendance, lateness and absence
  • Administrate, order and distribute Academy uniform for children and staff
  • Liaise with parents and visitors ensuring they receive appropriate hospitality and security checks
  • Dealing appropriately with complaints or parental issues following school policy and guidelines at all times
  • Responding appropriately to correspondence, queries and telephone calls
  • Diary management
  • Assisting Leadership Team with administrative support, as required
  • Production and delivery of PowerPoint presentations for Assembly
  • Duplicating / photocopying work as requested
  • Maintain filing systems including electronic filing of documents 
  • Clerical support to assist with the organisation of all Academy activities
  • Support the Business Manager and Head of Academy Management as and when required

EMW: Nursery Key Works

Responsible To: Nursery Manager
Salary: Negotiable dependent upon qualifications and experience
Closing Date: Friday 24 November 2017, 12noon
Start Date: ASAP, 35 hours per week flexibility required, term time only

 

To support and ensure a high standard of care and education is fulfilled for all the children in the Nursery.

This position will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

This post is complementary to that of the Nursery Manager, working in partnership to help further the aims of the Nursery.  You will be required to carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction and supervision of the Nursery Manager.  The following list of duties is not exhaustive but is intended as a guide to the range of tasks you may be required to undertake.

  • To be a Key Person responsible for a small group of children, carrying out all related duties.
  • To support the Manager in ascertaining children’s starting points and determine strategies to reach their next steps.
  • To maintain the care and well being of all children in the Nursery.
  • To ensure the health and safety of all children.
  • To encourage all children to meet the standards of behaviour set out in the Nursery’s policies.
  • To assist with the preparation and arrangement of teaching equipment.
  • To maintain records of accidents, incidents and the names of any children receiving medication.
  • To attend all relevant planning and staff meetings.
  • To attend courses / training sessions in order to support individual professional development and the development of the Nursery.
  • To hold a current emergency / paediatric first aid certificate and to administer first aid to children as necessary.
  • To familiarise and follow the Nursery’s policies.
